On a routine journey from Las Vegas to London, Pearce opted for a grand entrance (or should we say exit?) by causing the plane to make an unexpected detour to Canada.
At the tender age of 62, Pearce demonstrated that his penchant for excitement wasn’t limited to stadiums. Just when passengers were settling in for a snooze, he experienced chest pains—talk about giving them a wake-up call! Thanks to swift action, the plane touched down at St. John’s International Airport so Pearce could receive top-notch medical care.
Fear not, for the ex-defender is on the mend! After taking his seat in the economy class (a place far removed from the manager’s dugout), Pearce was eventually whisked away by medics, leaving fellow passengers to recount their flight tales. Known for his dramatic moments on the pitch—especially that haunting penalty miss at the 1990 World Cup—Pearce proved once again that he knows how to keep us all on our toes, both on and off the field.
