I decided to take my nine-year-old son George, an avid City fan, on this excursion, hoping for the kind of moment that rival getting a wink from a famous player.
The experience started with VIP-like treatment and some reasonably priced refreshments – imagine a cappuccino costing less than a football sticker pack! Our guide Ian captivated everyone with tales as we entered the stadium. To George’s delight, visiting the players’ changing rooms felt like being handed the keys to Superman’s Fortress of Solitude. Although the tour didn’t include stepping on the sacred pitch due to preparations, the thrill peaked when the group, led by George, marched down the tunnel like seasoned pros. Pep Guardiola’s holographic press conference was, frankly, as mind-boggling as finding a unicorn in your backyard! The whole tour, priced reasonably given the experience, felt like an incredible day out-and-out spent in the golden heart of Manchester.
