Okeke’s Hungarian Adventure Awaits…
Michael Okeke has traded Manchester’s drizzle for Hungary’s goulash, signing a three-year contract with Puksas Akademia after nine years at Manchester City. Like a teenager finally allowed to stay up past bedtime, Okeke, at 19 years old, leaves for the big leagues of Hungarian side Puksas Akademia. Once the pride of City’s academy, this former Bolton Wanderers lad has international caps from Hungary Under-21s. Meanwhile, his trophy cabinet is as packed as a squirrel’s pantry before winter. Sadly, he never broke into City’s first team, but maybe he’ll find fame in the land of paprika.
On social media, Okeke bid farewell with the kind of heartfelt message that would make even a robot tear up. Thanking City for being his home, he reminisced about the golden times with his teammates and mentors. Despite his league triumphs and contributions, City’s first team slipped through his fingers like buttered popcorn at the cinema. Now he’s set to conquer Hungary, a land perhaps slightly less rainy than Manchester. Okeke was conspicuously absent from Ben Wilkinson’s U-21 lineup, which was as telling as a magician revealing his tricks.
