From City Scrapheap to Red Devil Wishlist…
Once upon a time, in a Pep Guardiola world, young Felix Nmecha was tossed out like yesterday’s tactical plan. Fast forward to now, and this German midfielder could be waltzing back into town, with the only twist being he’s eyeing the Red side of Manchester! Our lad Nmecha, after mostly twiddling his thumbs at City, blessed the Champions League with an assist in a breezy 3-0 win over Olympiacos. But alas, Pep said gracias but no gracias and sent Felix packing to Wolfsburg for freebie fun in 2021.
Two years and a zillion bratwursts later, Felix strutted his stuff at Wolfsburg, catching Borussia Dortmund’s eye. Pensioners in the Bundesliga, Dortmund swooped in, locking Felix down on a five-year pact while ooh-ing at his three-goal and seven-assist shuffle. But here comes the twist—United is lurking in the background, shiny penny bags in hand. The Red Devils are reportedly planning to slap £40m on the table to test Dortmund’s resolve.
Niko Kovac, Dortmund’s boss, might have a facepalm-filled summer as top team players could vaporize faster than a snowball in a German heatwave. Despite minimal goal dance selfies this season, Felix remains a diamond, leading Dortmund’s show. United will need to fumble deep down their finance couch, as rumors have it that Nmecha’s worth shines at no less than £42m. Go on, Felix, teach Pep some Manchester switcheroo!
