Aguero Kisses City Goodbye for Spanish Adventure…
Sergio Aguero, City’s goal-scoring wizard, wanted to squeeze out one more season on the Manchester City bench like a well-loved sponge. Unfortunately, the bosses at Etihad had fresh faces in mind, leaving him dreaming of future goals as an honorary benchwarmer.
The Argentinian striker admitted he felt like City was his second home. Yet, when he got wind five or six months before his contract’s expiration that he wouldn’t be getting an upgrade, Aguero went club hunting – and fast! He promised he would have happily played assistant to Pep if it meant sticking around for another shot at glory – all in preparation for showcasing his talents at the World Cup.
Plot twist: He spiced up his life by joining pal Lionel Messi at Barcelona! Aguero insisted he didn’t mind taking a pay cut bigger than a referee’s red card penalty if it meant wearing the Barca jersey. But spoiler alert: Messi bolted from Barcelona faster than Aguero from the Premier League, and as if life couldn’t challenge him more, a cardiac arrhythmia episode put him into early retirement.
With his football boots retired, Aguero is now living life in the fast lane – literally! He’s revving up for a potential venture into starting a Formula E team. If he’s as quick on this journey as he was on the pitch, it’s bound to be a joyride for the ages. Follow his racing adventures @fiaformulae!
