Two penalties, two reviews — one wild half at the Bernabéu
UEFA released statements clarifying both VAR decisions in Real Madrid vs Manchester City’s Champions League clash. First, Madrid’s early penalty was cancelled as Matheus Nunes fouled Vinícius Júnior outside the box. Later, City earned their own spot-kick after Antonio Rüdiger’s foul on Erling Haaland. Haaland scored for his 53rd career penalty.
It was such a busy night for VAR that even the coffee machine must’ve asked for a substitution.
