Wayne Rooney has thrown a spicy meatball into the football soup, suggesting that Pep Guardiola might have one foot out the Etihad door unless Manchester City pulls a Houdini and snatches the Premier League title from Liverpool. Rooney isn’t even sure if Guardiola will stick around if they do win! Like a time traveler stuck in the future, he doesn’t think Pep’s sticking around past 2027, even after City bashed Wolves 4-0, only to slip on banana peels against Tottenham and Brighton.
Rooney, who occasionally moonlights as a stand-up comedian at ‘The Wayne Rooney Show,’ hilariously compared City’s transitional period to Sir Alex Ferguson’s era. He hinted City might as well get comfortable on a merry-go-round of managers. With City signing new players faster than a cheetah on roller skates, Rooney fears the team has lost a leadership buffet with Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker seeking fresher pastures. Meanwhile, Guardiola, bewildered by Brighton’s witchcraft, admitted they forgot to play after Brighton scored, as if someone accidentally flipped the off switch on their gaming console.
