Veseli’s blue-to-red metamorphosis did not occur in silence. Manchester City’s kingdom, led by wizard Roberto Mancini, pleaded with sugar-coated promises of titles and trophies lurking in their pot of gold. Alas! The allure of Sir Alex’s mystical United youth academy whispered sweet symphonies into Veseli’s ears! As if in a Shakespearean twist, a chance pint with United assistant, Rene Meulensteen, in a local pub spelled the beginning of the end for Veseli’s spell at City.
